Disneyland Race!

After work, we went to Disneyland to ride some rides we haven't ridden yet. On our list, was Pirates. We just had to ride it.

But first! A stop at coldstones for free ice cream!! (We still have gift cards from xmas :D) We ordered this new flavor that had actual funnel cake in it! Of course, I wasn't allowed to have the funnel cake, just the ice cream. And yes, I know, ice cream is a sweet, but since I made it an exception since I got Jeric to justify it for me as a novelty, it is counted out of my no sweets for lent.

Gotta say, it wasn't that great. Jeric said the same thing and he even got to try it WITH the funnel cake. What a waste of calories!

Oh well, off to the land of Disney!

We took the good ol' monorail into Disneyland and then were about to make our way to Pirates, but since we were next to Matterhorn, that was our first ride! And then, we totally wanted to ride Alice in Wonderland right after. Jeric sat in the back and I sat in the front and he handed me his phone so that I can take photos of us. But it was kinda dark, so we waited til we had good lighting from the ride. LOL. Jeric totally reiterates how bad of a photographer I am. He always says it. And sometimes I agree. Like today. HAHAHA. Check out my photos!

Now, off to Pirates. We walked through Fantasyland and while walking through totally picked up on the smell of chicken! Nice, warm, fried chicken! Which got us hungry. So, now we were thinking about where to eat, because you know, why eat in Disneyland when there's cheaper places outside! Anyhow, the freaking entrance from Fantasyland into Adventureland was totally blocked off! UGH! So we had to walk back and go through the castle to make our way out of Fantasyland so we can head right to New Orleans Square. But of course the castle was blocked to! DOH! DURRR! Fireworks!! At least they kept the side entrance by the wishing well open (which made us reminisce a bit, because that was were Jeric was officially supposed to propose!) We reminisced even more as we walked by the castle as it was void of guests since it was blocked off for fireworks. :D And we FINALLY made it to Pirates! LOL.

Love this ride. But we both do remember the drops being scarier. Hahaha. At least when we were kiddos, that is. I even remember my grandma going on the ride a long time ago and me thinking, "Wow, grandma has cray cray!" LOL.

Somewhere along making our way to Pirates or riding Pirates Jeric found a restaurant from yelp! It's a Mexican fusion Mom and Pop kinda spot. It closes at 9, so Pirates definitely had to be our last ride. So, we made our way back to the monorail, but DOH! Darn you fireworks!! No monorail!! Ugh! HAHAHA. The freaking distance from New Orleans to the monorail is probably the same as New Orleans to the park exit!! RAWR! What a waste. Oh well, what can we do. I did know where were crunched for time too, so I totally was like.. hmm, "I'll race you for DDD days!" And he agreed. He even said he'd give me a 5 minute head start. We were walking by Star Tours at that moment. And we both agreed, it was who ever made it to the car first!

And we were off. Well, I was off. (5 minute head start!) I was running and zigzagging through the crazy fireworks crowd. Totally thought I was super smart for not going through the stores too. Because the middle of Main Street was wide open! I seriously was like, "HA HA, Jeric's probably gonna go through the shops!" And then I was out of the park and a bit winded. So I brisk walked for a few. And then, was like, dude, I gotta make sure he doesn't pass me, else I'll surrender. Hahaha. Cause he can sooooo out run me in a heartbeat! So there I was again, running through downtown Disney. At least it wasn't as crowded and way more spaced out so I can easily zigzag through. I eventually made it near the end of downtown Disney and walked a bit past ESPN zone and then I heard a cough which totally sounded like Jeric. And I was off again! Can NOT let him beat me!! HAHAHA. I was in the parking lot.. halfway to the car, and I turned around to check, but no Jeric in sight. Hmmmm, I think I won! And then I turned down our lane, and yup, there's the car, but no Jeric! I WIN!

By the time I get to the car, I am huffing and puffing and super warm. Not sweating, just ubber freaking warm! And thank goodness I have the keys to the car. So I warm the car up, and remove my sweater. I also check my phone (I left it in the glove charging.) And there it is.. text messages from Jeric, "Time to run", at 8:17 (exactly 5 minutes after I started. :D) and the second text, "U won I took the wrong turn." HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Yah, he TOTALLY tried to outsmart me. He went through the back and thought it would spit him out directly across from the parking lot, but nope, it took him to the beginning of the parking entrance, which is waaay far from where we parked! HA!

Oh yah, he also started walking right away. I thought 5 min head start as in he doesn't move, but nope, he meant he will walk for 5 minutes. Hahaha. Oh well, I still won! Also, he didn't go through the shops and was totally thinking the same thing about me. Like, haha, she's an idiot if she goes through the shops. LOL.

That was that. I win!! Now we go get fooooood!
