Smoothies at Work!

Me and a few co-workers pitched in for a blender. We all wanted some healthy eats while at work. Today, we finally got that blender! Yey! We were supposed to have a regular blender, but the girl that went out and bought it actually found one of those single serve ones, much like the magic bullet. It also came with 4 cups that had mouth lids on it. As well as an extra cup, and an extra small cup. And then two covers, two shakers and two different blade types. Not bad!! Pretty cool too because only four of us pitched in for it. So perfect amount of cups and mouth lids.

The first smoothie I decided to make was an adaptation of the green machine. I found a simple recipe that had the following ingredients: spinach, romaine lettuce, water, celery, apple, banana, pear, and lemon.

So I washed the ingredients and chopped 'em up.

First, had to blend the spinach and lettuce with the water on its own.

Then, add a few stalks/sticks (I'll explain this later) of celery, half an apple, the whole banana, half a pear and juice from half the lemon. The original recipe called for a whole apple and whole pear, but that amount just didn't fit into my single serve cup.

I also had to separate the banana and lemon juice because it wouldn't fit right away.

I decided to blend in batches. Hahaha. Had to use a little mug to pour some of my stuff out so that I can blend all the ingredients.

Oh, I also added some protein powder. Can't forget that!

The smoothie was actually pretty delicious, except for one thing. The celery was a bit over powering! Hahaha. That's because I read the recipe as stalks of celery instead of sticks! Mwahaha. Whoopsie!
