Our Last Delicious Meal... For Awhile

Today started out with.. chores. Chores, chores chores!

I had 5 loads of laundry to do.
Had to vacuum our room.
Then steam clean the room.

Then head on out for errands..
Gas up the 4runner.
Buy groceries at Costco (meal prep time).
Exchange his basketball sleeve.
Buy me some better slippers.
Buy tupperware for our meal prep.

In between all that, we had time for a lunch date!
We decided on Cheesecake Factory since we had a giftcard!

We got our lovely bread basket..

The brown wheat bread was super delicious!

We started off with an appetizer.. the chicken taquitos. We totally shouldn't have though, because we ended up barely touching our entrees.

We both ordered lunch specials.
I got the bbq chicken pizza, which came with a salad

And Jeric got the chicken alfredo pasta with sun-dried tomatoes

After our yummy lunch. We headed home because the band met up to shoot another video log..

And then, we went over to the block and grabbed us our jamba juice bogo!

Derp Sitting

Had to babysit Derp today. Jeric went to play basketball early in the morning. And it was just me and the Derpson until 1. We mostly just slept. Hahaha. I fell back asleep a few hours after Jeric left for LA and Derpson, immediately fell back asleep. Apparently the medicine for the Mange would make him super drowsy for a few hours. It was so bad. He kept sleeping like a cow and almost fell face forward sooo many times. Silly Silly!

When Jeric got back, we didn't do much cause it was waay to hot outside and we couldn't leave Derpson alone.

Here's Derpson with his bandage on his leg..

We did make a run for Jamba Juice. We ended up with 16oz cups for $2 each instead of larger ones with the bogo because Downtown Disney doesn't accept the bogo. Lame!

We also had some In-N-Out for dinner since we're going to try and lean out for the next month.

So that was it. Our Saturday, super chill!

Poor Derpson

It was a scorcher today.. 92 degrees when I got off work!

The worst part.. when I got home.. the Derpson greeted me with heavy panting and a super duper red face!

I thought he was just hot.. so I immediately took him to our room and turned on the ac. But then.. as I was snapchatting him to Jeric, I saw crazy huge hives all over his back leg!

I called Jeric, and luckily he came home right then and there because I wouldn't have been able to carry Derp to take him to the vet.

We wanted to take him to Dr. Butchko, but they were closed already, so we settled for La Palma Vet Hospital, which was down the street. They were closing at 6, so we called them, and they said if we could make it before 6 we'd be fine. We totally barely made it!

Anyways, we all thought it was just a really bad allergic reaction again, but way worse than the chili pepper tree incident. But still, the vet wanted to do a skin scraping for his own peace of mind. He didn't even charge us for it. I am glad he did though because he found out that poor Derpson has Mange!!!!

We had to leave the poor Derpson there for a few hours so that he can get an IV drip and shots for the Mange.

After we picked him up.. all he did was sleep. But he totally looked sooo much better than when we dropped him off. Phew!

His face was puffy, red, missing hair, and bumps all over. Now, his face is clear, back to his regular color, free of bumps, and he no longer looked like his hair was falling off!

For the rest of the night.. Derpson slept.. I did laundry.. and Jeric watched TV.

Lobster Nachos!

After seeing a post on facebook about lobster nachos at California Adventure, I HAD to try them! So, I told Jeric about them and we headed straight over to The Cove Bar right after we got off work!

The Cove Bar's right behind Ariel's Grotto. Funny thing, I never noticed a bar/food area here before. Jeric said he's seen it before. I must really not be paying attention to my surroundings. LOL!

Anyhow, the service was horrible. There was a line to be seated and sadly, the line was for both tables and seating at the bar. Yuck! And the wait was about 30 minutes!! The thing is.. that alone wouldn't have been enough for us to rate their service as horrible. But, not only did we notice, but the couple behind us and some other guests in line all saw that there were 3 empty tables all cleared and set for the next customer and there were also 5 empty seats at the bar!

One of the guys in line even decided to as the host about it and the host replied that he couldn't divulge why those seats are left open. What?? What is this, some sort of top secret spot where some crazy celebrity had the seats reserved? Seriously, that's ridic!

Anyways, line moved along, and we were finally next. The host asked us.. do u want to sit at the bar or at one of the open tables. We picked tables. And the host was all like, "ok, wait here a moment, the table is still being prepared." But we both clearly saw
that the table was TOTALLY READY! They guy had us wait like 10 more minutes, and then he let us sit. Funny thing.. not a damn thing was done to the table for the entire 10 minutes. Ugh! Can we say, power trip? Either that, or Disney has some strange way of organizing their tables!

Well, that was that!

We finally got seated.. and at least our waiter was super kind an really attentive. Got our order right away and not too long after.. the nachos arrived!

Gotta say, they were pretty damn scrumptious!! We devoured every last piece!

New Shoes

Jeric's boss gave me some shoes for helping her out with the jewelry pics. She said I have really small feet (Jeric gave her my shoe size because she wanted to give me slippers awhile back). Anyhow, because I had really small feet, she asked if I wanted to have some shoes that they were stuck with. Basically, they order a case, which comes with a range of sizes and the smaller sizes never sell. She usually sends it off as a donation, but she asked me to pick a few. There were only size 4 and 5's. Well, I tried to be modest and deny her shoes, but she really really wanted me to have them. So, I picked the white ones and the black ones.

I wasn't sure how the size 5 would fit, since i'm really a 5.5. But when Jeric brought them home, I tried them on and they actually fit!

Here are the white ones..

Well.. after wearing the shoes for a bit, my toes start to feel a bit squished.. guess it is a tad too small.. oh well, I can bear it!

Ants and Derpson's Dog Food

Ants have been crazily attacking the dog food lately. So, we actually stuck Derpson's food outside in the backyard so that during the day, when it's smoldering, the ants will vacate.

Anyhow, every morning, Mom Samoza puts the doggies outside in the backyard and before I leave for work, I bring them in and put out food.

Guess the Derpson beat me to it this morning... he totally found his way into his food bag himself!

He ripped his own hole.. and went to town! LOL

Well, looks like we really have to get his food bucket today!

We've seen some purposely made for dog food off amazon (gen sent me a link) and at costco.. but they're about $30 or more.

So I took a quick trip to home depot to see if they had anything...

...found a 5 gallon bucket and a screw-top, air-tight sealing lid to go with it! And all for about $11. Not bad!

Jeric Went Home Sick

Poor Jeric. He spent most of the early early morning spewing his guts out, most of it being the prime rib from our anniversary dinner.

Looks like he really has a bad case of food poisoning. And it was definitely from that new sushi place!! He was feeling like such crap, and vowed to not eat sushi again. :( Poor buddy!

Anyhow, silly him decided to go to still go to work.. only to be sent right back home. Hahaha. At least it lets his boss know that he's dedicated to his job.

I asked him if he wanted me to get him anything on my lunch break, but he didn't want anything. He just wanted to sleep. Which is good, since his body probably needed a whole lot of rest.

As it got closer for me to go home, he woke up and asked for donuts. Hahaha. Not just any donut too. He wanted the nutella strawberry donut! YUMM!!

Soo off I went to Donuttery (thanks Gail and Gen!! we keep buying these donuts!! hahaha).

I bought a dozen.. and got him his yummy nutella strawberry. Also got the sick boy some milk. Hahaha.

Hope this makes you feel better buddy!!

Happy 1 Year!!!

Today we celebrate our very very first anniversary as husband and wife! YEY! Can't believe it's already been a year!

The day started out with our goodbyes to Auntie Flo, Uncle Alan and Tristan.

Then, we headed out to my parent's house because that's where we froze our cake topper. Honestly, we were both a bit afraid of what a year old cake would do to our stomachs. But, since it was customary.. we grabbed our forks and took a bite!

It didn't taste like it was spoiled, which I figured it wouldn't be. I mean, it's been frozen for a year, so that would keep any bacteria or what not from growing. But still.. you could tell it was old.

We both took a tiny tiny bit off of what was on our forks.. and that was good enough! Hahaha.

Afterwards, we headed to good ol' Disneyland for a bit. We got some photos with Mickey and then rode Buzz Lightyear. And yup, we took a bet.. which I lost! Oh well. Hahaha.

By this time, Jeric wasn't feelin well. He believes it's food poisoning from last night's dinner. Still, we left Disneyland and headed for Summit House for our free dinner!

On our table was a card signed by the Summit House staff and some apple cider.. since neither of us wanted wine.

This also has our dessert, which was pretty good.

As for our meal, we both ordered our own Prime Rib. Cause there was no way either of us was gonna share! Hahaha.

Sadly for Jeric, he couldn't enjoy his meal. He felt like caca. And it probably was some food poisoning from last night's dinner. :(

And even though he felt like crap, he didn't complain or suggest we try rescheduling our dinner! What a trooper!

Funny thing... we both didn't have a card for each other! Hahaha. Cause we're always around each other.. so we never had the time to go out and get our cards.. LOL!

AYCE Sushi!

Jeric's been craving sushi for the past week, but every time we think of going, our typical spot, Joe's Sushi, is always closed!

Tonight, while everyone was in Chino Hills hanging out for a pool party at Ivan & Kelly's, we were at home, thinking of what to eat.

Jeric did some research and found Sushi Shogun, which has AYCE Sushi (all you can eat)! We've actually been here before. Like a few years back. I even had an old blog post about it. But I'm sure that's long gone because I've started porting my blog into a book.

Anyhow, we got ready and headed out for dinner.

When we got there, we were surprised to see that it was no longer Sushi Shogun, instead it was Biyako. Still AYCE though! And they had a deal, if you like them on FB, you get a free soda.

Things seemed promising..

We started off with two rolls.. rainbow and dragon.

And some sushi on top of rice.. octopus, surf clam, red snaper, tuna, albacore and i forget the last..

Then, we ordered one more roll, which I got to choose and some more sushi. Another octopus and some surf clams.. and tuna and albacore. AND.. uni.. which is the one pictured here.. bottom left.

For all of you that don't know.. uni is sea urchin. And after watching Andrew Zimmerman rave about it so much, I decided to give it a go. They only had one piece left for the day though and Jeric gave it up to me. Gotta say.. NEVER AGAIN! It was way waaaay too slimy and squisy. I didn't wanna be rude and spit it out. Plus I'm sure people who love it would be like, wtf?! So I kept chewing and pushing it down.. even though the rest of me, really wanted to yack! Thank goodness for soda.. got to wash that grossness down!

There were also appetizers, like my miso soup. And some fried shumai, which we really wanted to try..

Unlike the uni, this was a perfect choice for something new! I'd order that again!

As for the roll I ordered, it was the 49er, which had crab inside the roll and then, I believe salmon on top, with a piece of thinly sliced lemon on that.

Jeric wasn't a fan of that, so he made me eat the almost the whole roll by myself! LOL

By then I was slowing down. But Jeric was still hungry. So he wanted one more rainbow roll an some more sushi.

Here's the thing.. earlier, when we ordered sushi pieces, the waiter emphasized that we can tell him how many "pieces". Since an order comes with two pieces and Jeric was the one that only wanted more sushi, except for my one piece of surf clam, we told the waiter to order just one piece!

But nope, what came out was double EVERYTHING!! Jeric probably would've been fine too, if that didn't happen. Because near the end. I was gonna yack, so I stopped eating. And Jeric was also about to yack. So he ate all the sushi pieces, leaving just the rice. And for the roll? I tried to help him, but after two pieces, I just couldn't. So he ate two other pieces and was also done.

There's a charge though, 95 cents for every left over sushi, and I believe they also charge you for leaving the rice!

So.. what to do? Why, stuff it into tissues of course! Hahaha. Jeric did that, and then tossed it into the toilet.

Anyhow, that was our dinner!

Happy 80th Lola Taba!

We celebrated Lola Taba's 80th birthday at the new Teppanyaki Buffet on Katella. They had a party room and a lot of people came! The buffet itself was better than that Asian Buffet they usually go to by Buena Park Mall. But even still, Jeric said he can tell it had MSG in it. Which I'm sure it did, but for some reason, I couldn't taste it. They also had free ice cream, like they usually do for dessert at a buffet style restaurant. But this was different, it came in individual cups!

The celebration was nice and simple.. lunch, family, and some birthday cake with candles!

Happy Birthday Lola Taba!

Side Project for Jeric's Boss

While the family was out in Palm Dessert, me and Jeric had a busy task for our Friday.

His boss wanted us to help her with some photos of jewelry that she sells. We've actually shot this before and touched it up with photoshop, but it wasn't exactly what she was looking for.

We wanted to make sure she was pleased with her results, so we worked hard on doing a re-shoot and photoshopping.

Here's one of them all done..

As I was retouching in photoshop, I was constantly sending her a file or so at a time and she totally loved them all! She was also really nice and really fun to chat with!

She got to work on adding all the images to her store's website.. here's one she stacked herself for the front page of her site!

Belated Father's Day Dinner

Since me and Jeric missed out on the Mostajo's Father's Day get together, we decided that we'd setup a day to cook steak for my dad!

So here we are.. cooking steaks!

Jeric was the main chef, individually cooking everyone's steaks. And I was the sous chef, cooking up some delicious baked potatoes.

We also had the Heat vs Spurs going on. Jeric was the only one rooting for Miami. I would've rooted for Miami too, but we were on a bet! And he picked Miami to win before I could!

The rest of my family was just rooting for the Spurs because they were either a Lebron hater or because it was the West! Hahaha. In the end, it was the Heat!

Happy Father's Day Dad!

Boiling Crab.. With Fam Bam From NJ

Jeric's relatives, Uncle Alan, Auntie Flo and Tristan, from NJ came down for a quick visit. They're only here until Sunday.

Auntie Flo arrived first, so it was just her, Lolo Melencio, Lola Taba, Mom Samoza, Auntie Del, me, Jeric, Ivan and Kelly at boiling crab!

We actually ordered a platter of oysters too. Which were actually really delicious! I've had them before from Dad Samoza, but those were so huge and bit more slimy. Even though these ones were good, I still only wanted just a few. Oysters aren't really my thing!

As for our food, me and Jeric shared a 2lb bag of shrimp with a pound of sausages with the whole shebang, but only mild.. since my stomach can't handle spice.

And that was our dinner!

Jeric Looooves Ice Cream!

Jeric loves his ice cream.. and since he was craving some today, we went to Burger King and got us two cones!

These are just like the one's they used to sell at McDonalds for like 39 cents. And they're 50 cents each. Not bad!

Gym Time

Back to the Gym we go! I really hope to get back into it. I've been kinda slow at it lately. Ever since I got sick, I haven't been able to get into a good rhythm.

We actually worked out yesterday and my current routine is three times a week, every other day. So instead of a rest day today, I'm throwing in this Tricep routine today.

By the way, push-ups are so friggin hard.. and the one with elevated legs up top a stability ball.. even harder!

Donuts!

Before heading to LA, we decided to hit up Donuttery for some delicious donuts. We bought a dozen to bring to LA and then we each bought a strawberry nutella!

We both totally enjoyed our strawberry nutella on the road.

And then, we wanted another, so we took the PB&J from the box and ate it! Gotta say, that was way better than I expected. The peanut butter was way different than normal skippy peanut butter!

We spent the rest of the day in LA for Father's Day. Just had lunch and hung out.

Superman: Man of Steel

Caught a late showing of Superman: Man of Steel in IMAX 3D. Gotta say, best Superman movie ever!

Both of us were totally into the movie the whole way through. Not a single dull moment. Jeric totally loved it too. And he's not a super movie person. We both agree, that superman is theee best super hero!

PS.. henry cavill as superman.....hot

Free Buffet!

Jeric played basketball in LA this morning and when he got back, I had just been up for about an hour. So neither of us has eaten and we were both starving.

Luckily, I had this gift card for hometown buffet. Horray for free food!

The buffet was alright. I mean, you can definitely taste the difference in quality of food. You can taste the salty! Jeric did 4 plates and I did 3 and that was including our dessert plate. Oh well, at least it was free! Cause otherwise, we would have never eaten here.

The best part.. ice cream to go!

Wedding In the Boonies

Jeric's old co-worker invited us to her wedding. It's on a Friday though, and all the way in Temecula! Since Jeric doesn't want to ask for early leaves or PTO just yet, we had to leave right away when he got off work and even then, with all the crazy Friday traffic, it took us mad forever to get there.

We missed the actual ceremony, but got there just in time for their entrance! We thought we were even late for that, but apparently the groom was late to his own wedding, so we didn't miss a whole lot.

When we got there, we actually didn't know where our seats were so we were standing for the whole grand entrance. And then after a quick bathroom break, we hit up the bar since it was open bar. And a nice lady overheard our convo and showed us where the seating chart was! Horray!

So, we got our drinks, went to our seats and grabbed some grub!

They had buffet style and they served two types of salads, bread, two types of pasta, spaghetti and chicken.

The food was alright, and the wedding was cute. But man, they didn't play that many good tunes! Hahaha.

Afterwards, we went to Pechanga.. where all we did was lose money and witness someone win 20k! Totally wish that was us!

Thursday, June 13, 2013

Pieology

After work, we headed out to the mall because we wanted to see if we can find anything for the wedding we're going to tomorrow.

We both didn't find anything though and we also had to make a stop at office depot before they closed. Oh well, we'll just find something in our closet. LOL

Jeric was super duper hungry too and we couldn't decide on what to eat. I named a bunch of stuff of yelp and we both even took looks around the area we were at. Eventually, we decided on Pieology!

We ordered us the BBQ chicken pizza. Yumm stuff!

We also got some new J's. YEY!
