We celebrated Ken & Angela's marriage with a reception at her mom's house in Carson. It's just an informal celebration though. They did get married today, but as for the formal celebration, that's in a few years.
We got there a bit late, 4:30 PM. It started at 3:00 PM. Fashionably late?

Oh well, it wasn't bad, there weren't a lot of people anyhow. My parent's and Chris came maybe five minutes later. So it was perfect timing!
After saying our hello's and congratulating the newlyweds, our first stop was the food table! They had typical filipino food, like lumpia, pancit, and some meat dishes that I know of, but don't know what they are. Hahaha. They also had a few vegan plates out, one was supposedly beef on a bone and the other was orange chicken. The beef on a bone was hard to tell it was vegan, but the orange chicken, you can totally tell it wasn't real chicken. None-the-less, still tasted alright, especially for vegan food.

Right after food.. DESSERT! They had fruits, baklava, maja blanca fruit salad and leche flan.

Then it was time to cut the cake! But not without theatrics!

Yup, that's the Bride killing the Groom!
We said our goodbyes and were on our way out, but then we totally had to stay for the home-made champagne tower!

Chris totally said it was gonna be a fail. In fact, we took a bet on it for pitek's (How I Met Your Mother Style. Anytime, anywhere!). Jeric didn't take the bet yet though. I did because I just didn't think it would fail! The bet was just for one glass to fall. Then, somebody put some pressure on the table before the Bride and Groom were even out there and the table almost toppled over! But none of the glasses fell! That made Jeric take the bet with Chris too!
And then came the Bride and Groom. And at first, they were pouring slowly. But then they got impatient and started pouring quickly and even double fisting bottles! Hahaha. Still, not a single glass fail! LOL!
We win the bets! Jeric already got his ear once and really good too. I snuck up behind him for my first one too, but right when I was trying to get him, he turned, and I didn't get him good. Booo. Still, there are 2 more for each of us! Hahaha.
Anyhow, CONGRATS Mr. & Mrs. Katagiri!!
Yay something to read while I'm feeding! So is this more of a food blog? Because it might make me hungry while reading.
