Accidentally Lifting Heavier Weights!

It's gym time again! Totally keeping up on our twice a week. Hopefully we can up it to three times soon.

Today, I'm still stairs. Jeric's back to running on the treadmill. No bball for him this week. For strength, we work on shoulders. We started with free weights doing shoulder presses. I on 8's, him on 40's. It starts with your arms posted like a field goal post and you lift until your arms are straight up in the air and perfectly straight. Gotta say, this was pretty tough with 8's. I didn't fail, but i was wobbly and shaky. Hahaha. Next we did this machine where you lift using your shoulders. Anyhow, when it was my time, I left Jeric to adjust my weights. Normally I do 10 lbs, which normally meant you just drop the two 5 lb bars down and don't insert the pin. Jeric did drop the two 5 lb bars down, BUT! he totally also left the pin in at 10 lbs, so I was doing 20 lbs! HA! No wonder that crap was soo hard! LOL. But I did 'em. I was struggling and Jeric totally had to spot me near the end of my reps. Haha. Oh well, at least for the most part, I did 'em until fail! Which is what you're supposed to do. Who knew I can do 20 lbs! Guess I set a new standard now. Our last workout were shoulder shrugs. For these, I also upped my weights. Since you're not really lifting the weights, it was doable. Basically all you do is hold the weights down at your side and let them hang and then just shrug your shoulders! Fun stuff!

Surprise of the day? Lifting them 20 lbs!
