Look Who We Saw?!

We were invited out for another one of Jeric's co-worker's (Krystal & Raymond) son's (Preston) basketball game. I had woken up earlier than planned. We set our alarm last night for 11:30 am, but I woke up at 9:00 am. I got some stuff done too, which was really nice. I made my breakfast.. prepped some steamed veggies for the week.. separated the laundry.. and even washed a load. I was making really good time too. I was showered and was getting ready by the time Jeric woke up. Which was really good since I can take awhile to get ready these days. The basketball game was supposed to start at 12:30 and it's way out in Irvine, so we planned on leaving around 12:10pm.

Well, so much for that! Had crazy shower duties to handle and we ended up being late! :(

We ended up getting to the Jewish Center, which is where they have all their games setup, at around 12:55 pm. I felt bad that we were so late, but luckily, we actually made it just in time! Right after saying hi to Jeric's boss and his wife (Dan and Claudia), who are Crystal's parents, we said hi to Krystal and Raymond and I immediately apologized for being so late and Krystal said that we actually made it in time and that they were just starting!

The game was fun to watch, just like it was before. Preston even dove for the ball and got a few jump balls. He played good defence and even made some good clean shots!

The picture looks kinda funny here without the actual basketball. Haha. But this was one of his shots.

We were all very into the game, until we saw this guy..

Of course, I had no idea who he was. Raymond immediately told Jeric and Jeric immediately told me. After he told me who he was, I was like, really? No way! Then, Jeric pulled his picture up on his phone off the net and lo and behold it was HIM! Same face and same tat! (PS, the boys didn't wanna be stalker-ish and snap the photo. But I had no problem! Hahaha)

The boys were star struck of course. LOL. They both totally wanted a picture with him. But then the game ended so we all began talking to Preston. That's when Rampage walked away and the boys thought they had lost their opportunity.

But there was hope yet. Krystal said his daughter might be playing on the other side, which was on the way out. So as we headed out, the boys scanned the bleachers and there he was. But, the boys didn't head over. Instead we all walked out the door. Krystal had to take Preston to the bathroom so that he could change his clothes since he was heading to a birthday party right after. Which gave the boys plenty of time to hold the door open and stand there contemplating whether they should head over or not.

Jeric made the inital move and said, "I'm going over," which prompted Raymond to follow, and then I behind them as I was the one with the camera. I totally ran over a little kid on the way there. I felt so bad that I knocked him over. Luckily, no harm was done. Hahaha. I didn't even know that Raymond caught that. LOL. Apparently I was too anxious? Hahaha.

Well.. there the boys were.. in front of Rampage Jackson! Raymond spoke first and was like, "Hey Mr. Jackson". At first, it almost seemed like Rampage wasn't going to look up from his phone, but he did. And he shoke Raymond's hand. And then Jeric chimed in.. "Honor to be shaking hands with a living legend." And that was it. I didn't even snap a sneaky photo while the boys shoke his hand because I thought they would ask! But they both felt that he wouldn't oblige so they just walked away after that. Hahaha. Silly boys! I would've totally asked for a picture and I probably should've. Oh well, too late. But hey, his daughter plays there? Maybe we'll run into them at another of Preston's games! LOL

Celebrating Mng Pret's Birthday

It's my cousin's birthday today and she's actually visiting from the Philippines. My mom asked me if we wanted to go with her. Jeric couldn't make it, but I was more than happy to go. When I visited the Philippines, she was a wonderful host. She planned pampering outtings for me and my mom. So, it was nice to go out and celebrate her 50th birthday with her.

This pic came out bad.. I don't think my other cousin knew how to focus with my phone and that's also her finger. lol

All the food was delicious and everything home-made. There was veggie egg rolls, lumpia, pancit, fish, a huge lechon, pinakbet, shrimp, diniguan, and a bunch more! There were also a few Ilocano dishes, but I don't know all the names.

It was nice seeing my mom's cousins and all my 2nd cousins again, especially since I rarely go to their events.

KBBQ for Lolo Melencio's Bday

After having brunch with Jeric's co-workers (we took them to Bruxie because they've never tried it) we came home to relax since it was our last day off before going back to work.

But then, Mom Samoza called us up and asked if we wanted to have dinner for Lolo Melencio's birthday. We could never turn down a birthday celebration and food!

At first, we were all going to eat at Kimlo, but then, Marky and Jeric knew that it wasn't going to fill them up. That's when Marky suggested this KBBQ spot over near his work. It's called Bulgogi House and its AYCE!!

This was everyone's first time trying it, except for Marky (he had it a few days ago). We all ordered and were ready to start eating. What's really cool about this spot? They have a buffet, which has all the sides and then more!

The meat was also really delicious. The quality of the brisket was what you would expect for $15 a person. They also had iron steak, which ended up being our absolute fav. The only let down was the egg pot! It was gross! Mine looked grey and when the brought it, it totally didn't look like egg.. it looked like some kind of sea creature. None of use ate it.

Jeric also saw that they had octopus so of course he HAD to try it! When they brought it, I was kinda sad because it looked like little babies!

Jeric grilled them up and said that they were pretty good.

I would definitely come back here!

Jeric's New Toy

We've been borrowing both of our Dad's power drills lately and Jeric was thinking, he really wants one of his own so that we didn't need to ask or have to bring it back when they needed it for something. He saw a Memorial Day coupon online for 20% off, so we headed out to Home Depot and got himself his own drill!

They had a package that came with two drills. One for inside the house and a super powerful one for outdoor projects.

He's pretty happy with his first tool!

BTW.. we totally went to Home Depot like three times today! HAHAHA!

A Day for Cali Tacos

We ran some errands today and just kinda chilled for the most part. We went to the Block to return something at H&M and that's when the hunger hit. I was thinking of a burger because we passed by Johnny Rockets and it smelled so good. But then, Jeric mentioned Cali Taco and I was like.. YES! Let's go there instead!

So, here we are.. grabbing some grub over at Cali Tacos.

We each ordered a Carne Asada Cali Taco and then shared an order of fries.

They never disappoint. Half a burrito each totally filled us up. We bagged the other half and went back home. I thought I was going to be hungry again, but I was actually pretty stuffed!

Stonecrab

Jeric wanted to buy bones for the doggies, especially since yesterday was Derp's third birthday. So, we headed out to 99 Ranch.

When we got there, we totally looked at everything else and when we came across all the live seafood, we knew we wanted to try cooking our own live crab.

That's when we picked this guy..

We opted not to buy the dungeness crab because it was like $10 a lb. Instead, we bought a stonecrab, he was only like $3 a lb. I've never tried stonecrab.. least not knowingly. My parents have always bought dungeness. Jeric has though. He said his parents always buy them.

Well.. we took the poor fella home. I decided to stick him in the sink and add water. I wanted to play with him for a bit. Haha. I was poking at him so he can strike me with his claw. But of course, I wasn't crazy enough to use my own fingers to poke him.. I used tongs instead. He did get kinda feisty after a few pokes and stuck his claws in the air. Haha. I thought it was hilarious.

Anyways, it was time to cook him. Jeric tossed him in and slowly we watched him die. Poor crab!

My sentiment didn't last long though. Once he was cooked, I was ready to dig in! Verdict: tastes the same as dungeness!

First Baby Class

We had our first baby class today. It's for Baby Care Basics. We were there kinda early since it was near our work and we didn't want to drive all the way home and then drive over to Irvine. Would have been a total waste of gas.

I totally forgot to pack actual food, so all we had were snacks, fruit, and water.

Anyhow, we got the handouts and totally started reading the one about the different kinds of poop. Hahaha. I mean, we've heard about the black tar poop, but we were surprised when we read about the mustard seed poop. LOL.

Finally, the class started. They went over some neat stuff that I had never heard of, like skin-to-skin. Funny thing, Jeric said he knew about that already. I guess we didn't learn too many new things or anything we couldn't really find on the www. Plus, for the last hour, they were going to just pop a video in. Jeric said, that's kinda lazy. So, break time rolled around.. and we were out!

We were hungry and super bored. Hahaha. So we totally just took off. And honestly, I'm so glad we did. I was starving!

So Creepy!

I came in the office this morning and when grabbing files from my cubemate's drawer, I glanced into the VP, Kevin's, office. I noticed a little kid doll dressed in camo gear. I was wondering what it was all about. I asked my cubemate if she had any idea on what it was. She said.. it was actually in Steve's office a few days ago. LOL!

Anyways, day goes on and Kevin asks us if we had any idea about it too! We both were like, nope, no clue and Socorro told him that it was in Steve's office the other day. Kevin said when he got there in the morning, the kid was on his chair! Haha. How freaking creepy! He moved it to the corner by one of his drawers and then ended up moving it completely out of his office into one of the cublicles near me. Look.. so creepy, right?

Word around town is there's a girl version. So I went hunting for it and found it in one of the manager's, Karen, office. She told me that originally it was under her desk! LOL! OMG! I would be totally creeped out.

Dinner with Jeric's Co-Workers

Jeric's co-workers wanted to have dinner. Last time, they paid for our brunch, so we totally wanted to pay for dinner. Alas, we were blocked! They said they would pick it up, so we wouldn't have to worry. That's twice! Two can play this game! Haha. We decided to head out to Porto's and get them some delicious goodies. We went to the one in Downey and wow, it looks newer then the Glendale one. It was crazy busy too. There was a line that went out, just as if it were 85 degrees on a busy day!

We ordered a dozen of the cheese rolls for them and for us, we got ourselves some cheese rolls and meat pies. We also wanted to try the potato balls, which turned out to be ah-ma-zing! We had no idea they contained meat! I mean, they're only called potato balls.. not meat & potato! We regretted ordering the meat pies and wished we ordered more of the potato balls! Definitely getting those next time. Oh, I also ordered two of the guava ones too, which actually weren't as good as I remembered. Sure hope Krystal and Raymond love the pastries!

Dinner with his co-workers was nice. They ordered Wing Stop and we all just hung out and chatted.

Visiting Liz at Her Work

Marky asked if we wanted to go eat dinner today over at Liz's workplace. Everyone went.. Marky, Ivan, Jeric, me and our parents! It's this pho spot over in Buena Park. We were thinking.. Buena Park.. should be nearby.. But, not really. It was like in the outskirts of Buena Park. Haha. The spot was actually in a little Asian Plaza. They had Daiso, 85 degrees, and a bunch of other Asian style stores and restaurants.

Liz had no idea we were coming and we thought that she wouldn't be our server since she already had a big table. But.. she still served us. :)

We ordered calamari, shaken house fries and their sweet potato fries for appetizers. But before we even had them served, Liz brought over egg rolls since an extra order was accidentally made for another table. Sweet!

The sweet potato fries were pretty delicious, but since we were all hungry, they weren't devoured. Everyone wanted substinence.. not sweets. Haha.

The calamari was way scrumptious! but wow, such a small serving! That plate was totally annihilated!

The shaken house fries were also oh so tasty! Those were gone in seconds!

For the Pho. I ordered the combo and Jeric ordered the short rib, which he had with a bone marrow broth. Everyone else pretty much ordered the same.. either the combo or the short rib with the bone marrow broth. Both were delicious, but probably not worth the price. Even Liz said it was all over priced. Haha.

At the end, we knew the bill was going to be pretty up there. The boys were deciding on playing credit card roulette, but then Mom and Dad said they'd pay. Little did any of us know.. Liz already took care of it! What!?! Hahaha. Bamboozled! Our parents were totally shocked and just could not take it. They didn't want Liz to pay for it. Especially since she was our server. But Liz held her ground and even said.. "Happy Mother's Day!" Hahaha. Sly.. so sly! But.. Thanks Liz!!!!

Mini Package

I received a package from Mini in the mail today. It was pretty huge and took up all the space in our mailbox. I was really curious as to what it was. Well.. turned out to be a welcome package! Hahaha. So weird, since I bought the car in October. I figured they'd either send it a month later at most or at my year anniversary. But, nope, they wanted to confuse me and sent it out 7 months later. Hahaha.

The package was pretty cool! It turned out that it had a thick plastic covering on the outside. I thought it was just a pretty fancy huge envelope. But then Jeric noticed the inside was canvas and there were strings and he totally figured out that if you turn it inside out, it turns into a bag! pretty cool! The bag has a huge imprint of a bulldog! Even cuter!! It also came with a 1gb usb stick. I know.. you're thinking, 1gb? What's that gonna do? Buttttt, it's in the shape of a Mini Cooper! Love it! It also came with some other standard knick knacks.. writing pad, pen, welcome notes, post cards, and an antenna topper (that one's so fugly.. hahaha, I tossed that straight into the trash).

Haha.. Jeric said it's way more than he ever got from BMW! YEY ME!

Finished Our Baby Announcement

I finally finished our baby announcement. I know we already announced via good ol' social media, but we wanted to make it official with our own digital card!

Jeric found this super cute way of announcing online and we just made it ours! We took the photos and totally used a hot pink file folder that I can crop out for our jail signs. Hahaha. We sorta made our own little photoshoot out of it, which was pretty cool. We just took our tall lamp and lay it sideways to give us great light. When you don't got all the right tools.. just improvise! Our apartment wall served as our "green" screen. All it took was a ton of photos, some deciding on which one's were best and then good ol' photoshop!

Taking Mama Out for Mother's Day

All the cousins wanted to take Mama out for Mother's Day. They all decided on this Mongolian BBQ spot called Gobi.

Parking was sucky, but everyone eventually made it! It's AYCE but not what we were expecting. We were thinking of KBBQ. This was so not that. Haha. You basically have a bowl to fill for every time you get up for a serving. You pick your meets, pick your veggies, and then pick your sauces and try to have it all fit inside one bowl!

Then, you give it to the cooks who grill it over a stone slab. At least, I think it's a stone slab. And you get this..

It tasted delicous! But man-oh-man, those noodles were super filling! I think everyone thought the same because everyone's 2nd trip had 0 noodles! LOL!

It was a lot of fun.. great company.. and good food! Happy Mother's Day Mama!

My Birthday Shoes!

Jeric got me Nike ID's for my birthday and they've finally arrived!!

I love love love loooove them! I also told him to get me a size 6 instead of 5.5 since my foot has grown and even it my foot goes back to normal after I give birth, it'll still be around my normal size.

I already saw the pic when Jeric showed me what he got me online. So I knew it has cheetah spots and had a pink enterior. What I didn't know was that it actually has a heel! YEY! Can't wait to rock 'em!

Free Tacos for Health Week!

I had the unfortunate task of assisting our department coordinate the lunch tickets for Health Week. It was horrid. On Monday, HR announced that we were having tacos. Then, on Tuesday, sometime after 2:00 pm, they decided to drop of bags and bags and bags of the lunch tickets with flyers and a little post-it note gift for our entire department! Which is the biggest! We have roughly 350 employees in our department. And here I was, given the task of handing them out or grouping them by their supervisor and then creating individual packets for the supervisors to hand out. It was tedious, tiring, and forced me to work overtime. I ended up stopping at 6:30 pm and leaving the rest for the next morning. And honestly, if my cubemate didn't assist me, I would've been at work way longer!

Anyhow, today's the day we get our tacos! Oh, I also wasn't supposed to be included since I'm technically not an employee yet. All contractors and temps weren't included. Boooo! But luckily, Socorro, my cubemate, was working at LBM today, so she gave me her ticket!

Here's what the crowd looked like when I went down at 1:00 pm (30 minutes before the end).

I got my tacos!!

Although, the two tacos didn't seem like it filled me up. So I dared to get back up and see if they'd give me another taco. Of course I knew they recognized me. I mean, I had JUST gone up there 15 minutes ago and there weren't too many people. Plus one of the servers already commented on me being preggo. So, I didn't try to pretend I was going up there for the first time. I just simply asked if they had a spare taco to send my way. And, sure enough, I got my third taco! I decided to bring back to my cubicle though since my lunch was almost over. And.. funny thing, by the time I got back, I wasn't hungry! LOL!

So I saved it.. and then the VP, Julie, swang by my cubicle. She noticed I got to try the tacos and mentioned that she didn't have any time to make it down there. So, I offered her mine and told her that I was too stuffed to finish it. But, she took one look at it, and said it didn't look appetizing. Hahahaha!

I must say, they definitely weren't the best tacos I've had. In fact, they were kinda like, caffeteria tacos. Oh well!

Doggy Bath Day

Jeric thought it was time for the doggies to have a bath. So did I.. they stank! LOL

Plus Chewy has been having massive diarrhea and she couldn't wait for us to let her out in the backyard. Yes, her little house wreaked!

We went to Jeric's parent's house to pick up the doggy bath tub that we left in the backyard and decided it would fit well in our patio.

Chewy was the first one up of course! Hahaha!

She's also the easiest to give a bath.

Next up is Juno.. who's the toughest, but with the bath tub's restraints, she didn't give Jeric that much trouble. I forgot to snap a pic of her in the bath.. but here she is afterwards.. all comfy in her bed.

Last, but not least.. the Derpson! I love his squishy fat face!!

YEY! All the doggies are.. so fresh and so clean!

Celebrating Dr. Stutman's Birthday

Victoria, a girl who works closely with Dr. Stutman, wanted to surprise him for his birthday. And she knew that he gets embarrassed by it, so she totally went all out. Dr. Stutman's a total Disney fan! So what she did is she passed out a bunch of balloon and cloud cutouts to everyone for us to write a nice birthday message. She then found a picture of Carl from Up and then replaced the face with Dr. Stutman's and on his office window, she completely decked it out with Dr. Stutman holding all the balloons and floating off in the clouds! She then added some real balloons around his office. Very nice!

The real surprise was the ice cream social that she coordinated over in one of our conference rooms. They made it so that one of his meetings would need to move to that conference room because they needed to review something and needed to use the projector. And then.. Surprise!! Everyone gathered and sang him happy birthday and then had some delicious ice cream!

I got myself a scoop too! Yummm!

Made It On the Shoutout Board

I did a good deed today and totally made it on the "Shoutout" board at work! Woot!

Someone left their iPad in the breakroom and I figured it was one of the folks that were in there at the time, but then, everyone left and it was just me. So I picked up the iPad and sent out a mass e-mail to search for it's owner. I guess the owner was very happy that I returned it. It was his personal iPad too, not one issued by MemorialCare. He said he was panicking when he thought he had lost it because he couldn't remember where he last left it.

I just knew that if it were me, I would definitely be sad if I lost my iPad. So, I'm glad that I was able to find the iPad's owner!

Fight of the Century?

It's finally here.. The long awaited fight between Pacquiao and Mayweather! It's almost too good to be true! Hahaha. A lot is riding on this fight and many have dubbed it the fight of the century! Let's hope it goes down in history in favor of Pacquiao!

Originally, Jeric and the boys were supposed to be in Vegas. But, seeing as how they wanted to watch the fight and it was closed circuit, it would have been $150 a person just for them to watch it in a bar. Way too expense! Then, they thought about renting a place to host the fight. But of course, that never worked out because that was expense too.

In the end, Jeric decided to setup the projector in his parent's garage and have us watch it there. It was actually a nice spot to have it too. We had the bbq grill out and before the fight ever started, we all had some delicious burgers while watching the Clipper game.

Of course, it still didn't go off without a hitch. While watching the Clipper game, we totally lost signal a few times. I guess the cable box in the garage would lose signal every now and then. This was scary and we were all imagining that we'd lose signal at the most crucial part in the fight!

Still, we stood our ground and hoped that it would stick. Then, right before the fight was to start.. the signal was lost! Hahaha. Everyone (but me) ran so fast into Jeric's parent's bedroom to watch it there. I eventually made my way there and Jeric saved me a spot. :D

Jeric's parents, Liz and her friend Ham, stayed in the garage though and just waited it out. Then, they shouted that it was back on and everyone ran back outside. But of course.. it blacked out once more and we all went back inside. LOL! It eventually came back on in the garage and they all went back, except me. I was tired of hoping on and off Jeric's parent's bed (it's super high). And I was tired of walking back and forth. So I just stayed and watched the rest of the fight there.

Now the fight..

Pacquiao vs Mayweather!! YEY!!

The fight started out how fights normally do.. each getting a feel for each other. Then the 3rd round came and Pacquiao exploded after a below the belt hit by Mayweather! We were all going crazy and, honestly, had the fight continued this way, I would have had to leave and do something else because it was quite stressful for the baby. I remember cheering and going crazy with everyone else and then feeling a bit light headed. Perhaps I over did it. LOL. But, sadly, I did not have to leave the room and stop watching. The fight was oh, sooo boring after that. It was such a waste of money and not a soul didn't feel utterly disappointed and of course, there's also the fact that Pacquiao lost.

I believe it was a fight where we all got duped and the two of them made out with a mother load of dolla dolla bills ya'll!

New Ramen Spot

Marky and Liz invited us out for dinner tonight to try a new Ramen spot out in Fullerton. Of course, we were game!

The ramen was very different than one's we've had from Shin-Sen-Gumi and Santouka. The broth is really heavy! LOL. It was pretty tasty though. But I'd still prefer Shin-Sen-Gumi or Santouka over it.

It's Official, Sort Of..

It's official.... I think.

I finally got my name on my cubicle today!

Yey! And now I wonder if that means I'm official. I haven't heard anything as of yet, but I'm really hoping that my name on my cubicle is a step towards becoming permanent over at MemorialCare!

Until then though, I wonder if having my name on my cubicle is a good idea. People can find me now.. waaaahh! LOL

Mini Cakes!!!

Our VP, Steve, has recently forgone any caterred lunches because he's now on a diet. Funny thing, today of all days, he gets a delivery that I sign off on and the mail clerk states that if Steve doesn't come back within a few hours, then I should take the box and refrigerate it because it's perishable. It never gets to that point though, since Steve comes back to his office about 30 minutes later.

I was wondering what was in the box! Well.. cakes! A bunch of mini cakes! I hear him giving a few away and then he walks over to my desk and hands me, what looks like a fancy box, with only two cakes on top. He says I can hand them out to anyone I please and even keep one for my self if I'd like. Hmmm.. well, I decide to keep one, but it's for Jeric, not myself because I need to cut down on the sugar. And these cakes look like mini bundt cakes and they look very very rich and sugary! Anyhow, I email a friend and offer her the other cake. But then, I notice that there's a whole other layer underneath, with 4 more cakes! Oh. Em. Geee. Please, people.. come and take these away before I eat one! LOL

Luckily, they were all gone and I was left with just a red velvet one for Jeric. I survived and didn't take a bite! Hahaha!

Of course, the next day, Michael, one of the directors who had one of the mini cakes, tells me that it was thee absolute most delicious mini bundt cake he's had. I'm kinda kicking myself for not saving another cake. Hahaha!
