Sad, so sad. Our mini vacation trip is over. As always, it went by just too fast!
Since we missed PCH on the way up to San Francisco, we were thinking of taking PCH going home. But we had a bit of a deadline because Steven had work. We could've still made it to be honest, but only me and Jeric woke-up early enough for that to happen. Still, we thought we'd give it a try.
After saying our goodbyes to everyone else, we headed on out towards PCH. It took probably 30 - 40 minutes to get there as we headed West through the windy roads. When we got there, we needed to find a bathroom. At the same time, Jeric wanted to find a Target and the rest of us wanted to find a spot to eat.
We found a target along PCH, which also had a Panda Express nearby. Once we were all set to hit the road again, I noticed that if we took PCH all the way home, we wouldn't make it back in time. Even if we tried taking PCH partial through, the only time we'd have a chance of heading back East towards the 5 would be after Santa Barbara. By then, it would be too far too late. Soooo, we decided to make our way back to the 5! LOL. PCH Fail! OH well. Maybe next time.
Oh, and on our way back to the 5, it was supposed to only be about 30 - 40 minutes back, but then we were suddenly at a stand still for a good 10 minutes! Yikes! Luckily it was only 10 minutes because when we weren't moving at all, I was a bit worried we'd be stuck for hours!
Anyhow, we made it back to the 5 and made it back home. Steven already called in to have someone cover his shift until 5:30, but even then, we didn't make it back til 6:30. It was that hour and a half driving to and from PCH. Whoopsie.
Well, we're back home! The worst part.. work tomorrow! *cry*

Girls & Ray Day Out in SF
While the boys head out to Wrestlemania, the girls and Ray head out to SF!
The boys had their dreams come true today as they all finally got to attend Wrestlemania! The only thing that sucked is it was in the outdoor arena, Levi's Stadim, and they baked their faces off! LOL

Meanwhile, us girls and Ray headed out to SF.

We were pretty hungry and decided on having a clam chowder bowl. We ended up at Boudin since they had a nice patio overlooking the bay.

I was debating the petite bread bowl and the regular. Petite is 8oz and regular is 16. Hmm.. I was really hungry so I chose the regular! Lol.

It was way delicious, but dayam.. Shoulda done the petite. I didn't finish the bread bowl. We also had the crab and artichoke dip, which was scrumptious!

After, we decided to walk on over to this bar called La Mar Cebicheria because everyone wanted to drink! It was happy hour too, so everyone ordered a buncha drinks before it was over.

Now it was time for ice cream! I've been waiting for this since we got to SF. Lol. Everyone ordered a two scope cone, except me. I decided to order a 12oz cup so that I could save some for Jeric. Yah, that totally never happened. I killed the whole thing myself! Sorry hubby, no ice cream for you.

It was pretty cold outside when we got our ice cream, so we hopped in the van and ate there while waiting to hear back from the boys. Originally, they were going to come down and meet us in SF, but we were getting different stories from the boys. Figures, boys don't organize well. Hahaha. Eventually, they all agreed that they would take the CalTrain to meet up with us. But then, we found out that the last train out of Santa Clara was within 30 minutes. There was no way those boys would gather together, make it out of the arena, and then make it to the train station in time. Booo. Looks like we're heading to pick-up them boys!
Picking them up was also quite the mission. I was texting Jeric, while Ann was texting Geoff and Marianne was texting Ivan. We were trying to see how to go about picking them up. But so much happened. Geoff got separated from all the boys and he sprained his ankle.. oh, and he was super drunk! Hahaha. Jeric's phone died. When we eventually were near the arena, we noticed that there was so much traffic getting in and out of the stadium, so we tried to message them boys and let them know that they need to walk to Carl's Jr. nearby. That took forever just to get them all situated and to know that they all were heading to Carl's Jr. And then, we saw that even that street was hectic, so we decided to send them our location so they could walk to us, but they totally ended up going all the way around and through the neighborhoods. LOL! So, we were like.. stop! Just stay where you are and we'll go to you. Hahahaha. Finally we found them! Now we had to stuff our 7 seater van with 11 of us.. 7 of them being stinky, sweaty, drunk boys! Hahahaha. It's a good thing our hotel was only 5 minutes away.
We ended the night with dinner at In-N-Out and that was it! Our trip is over. Tomorrow we drive back home.

Everybody Hanging in San Francisco
Today was the day where everyone was going to hang out in San Francisco. We started majorly late though. It was hard to get everyone to meet up at the same time. We also decided to take the CalTrain so no one has to drive back late at night. Since there was a lot of lag, we didn't make it in time for the 2:15 pm train and had to wait for the 3:15 train.

The train ride was super long! It took about an hour and a half to two hours! Geeperz!
We were all extremely hungry by the time we got off the train. Denise and Ray suggested San Tung, which they said had really delicious chicken wings. So, that's where Philip and Christian were waiting for us.
It was about 5/6 miles away, so we had to grab two Lyft cars. But oh my goodness! Our driver, who mentioned that he's new (we were his 3rd customer), took the freaking long way around! He also used Waze for GPS rather than the app with Lyft. We texted them in the other car and wanted to compare. They're driver went straight down the street, which is a MUCH shorter distance. And in the end, we got charged double! Uggg. Totally going to email the crap out of them until they take care of this!
Oh well, here we were! Now we had to wait about 30 minutes for a table to be ready. Instead of waiting around, we decided to walk down the street and find a bar. We found Blackhorn Tavern, which was only about a few buildings down. We were all there, except for Ann and Geoff.

And finally, 30 minutes later, food! Every one was famished. We ordered 2 plates of fried rice, 2 plates of chow mein, 1 plate of mongolian beef, plate of kung pao chicken and 3 plates of their famous chicken wing!

All the food was okay, but the chicken wings were definitely delicious!
After dinner, we wanted to see if we can tour a bit of SF. At first we were going to head out to Golden Gate Park, but some others wanted to check out Dolores Park. When we got there, it was pretty dark already, and they were doing construction on half of the park. Plus, it majorly reeked of that reefer so me and Jeric walked away and across the street towards Bi-Rite, which was a very popular ice cream chain that Denise said had thee best salted caramel ice cream. I was thinking of grabbing some, but the line was just way too long.
By that time, Geoff and Ann texted us and said they were gonna be at Trick Dog, which was this restaurant/bar. It was only about a mile or two away, so we all decided to walk there. Big mistake.. LOL. Yes, it's only about a mile or so away, but damn, them hills are killer!
We hung out for awhile and it was really fun. Then Ivan and Marianne were gonna head out because Marianne wasn't feeling well. Me and Jeric thought we should head back too, so we headed out with them. Ivan called for an Uber and we got in and were headed towards the nearest CalTrain station. Then, funny thing, the driver noticed he totally picked-up the wrong passengers! LOL. It was completely his fault because he didn't ask us for our name. We totally ended up with a free ride! Sweet! It was a black car too, fancy!
We finally made it to the train station and I was pretty hungry. I read the train schedule and saw that the train was leaving at 10:45 and it was only 10:01. Since we had time, we all headed out to look for food nearby. When we got back, Jeric thought it was weird that it would be 10:45 when the last train was at 12:05am and they're usually scheduled about an hour apart. He even thought he over heard that the next and last ride out is at 12:05am. So, he went back to the train schedule and oh my goodness. I totally read the schedule wrong! Doh!! We totally missed the 10:15 train by 15 minutes because we left for food because I said 10:45. Now we had to wait an hour and a half! Plus, all of our phones were either dead or on the verge of dying. Whoopse! Sorry guys.
Since we were taking the last ride out, we thought we'd run into the rest of the gang. But when it came time to board they were no where in sight. We were pretty worried because they were at a bar and who knows if they got out of hand drinking. And then, only Ivan had some life on his phone, but right after he texted Marky, his phone died. There's nothing else we could do, but hope they made it in time.
Gotta love the last train out! All them drunkards appear. LOL. We were at the very back car and already seated. But then it smelled like feces. Stinky, hot feces. Someone joked about farting but there was no way that was a fart! It never dissipated. In fact, it was growing stronger every second. GROSS! Yah, me and Jeric got up real quick and moved to the next car up. Of course, after the train's been in motion for a good few minutes, the girl next to us pukes! Luckily there wasn't a stench.
After several stops, we saw Denise and Ray walking from car to car and they noticed this girl.. who we noticed earlier because she was super loud and was totally drunk talking to the couple in front of us. Denise said they were at a different stop than us (which was why we didn't see them board with us) and that that lady was there, but on the opposite side and she yelled at them asking if they were going to Palo Alto. Someone answered her no, but she made here way up the stairs, down the walkway, and down the stairs to where they were. LOL. At first, she minded her own business, but then she was all up in their personal space and shouting some nonsense about being against the bullet train. And apparently she peed her pants. When me and Jeric heard that, we got up super quick and made our way to one of the front cars to see if we can find another seat. LOL. So gross! Gotta love the last train out! Always a buncha folks who can't handle their liquor!
Thankfully we were all together and luckily Ray and Patrick still had life on their phone because we still needed to grab a Lyft or Uber back to the hotel, which we were able to do before their battery life was almost out!

On Our Way to SF
Making our way out to SF today!
We started with a whole lot of lag. LOL. But, what's new? Jeric was supposed to head out with Liz, Marky and Patrick at 9:00 am to pick-up the rental, but Liz, Marky and Patrick didn't get to our apartment until 9:40 am. Our rental was set for pick-up at 9:30 am, but luckily, when Jeric called, he found out that Orange County has a law that they can't cancel your reservation for up to 12 hours after your reservation time. Phew.
Anyhow, they finally got back to the apartment at around 10:00 am, but then we were all hungry, so we went to Cali Tacos first. By the time we got to LA to pick-up Denise and Ray it was 12! And we still needed to hit up Target for an air mattress. LOL. So much for leaving LA around 10.
We originally planned to take PCH, but since we lost so much time already, there was just no way we would make good time. So, we took the good ol' 5 and got there roughly around 9:00 pm.
After checking in, unpacking and settling into our home for 3 days.. some of us wanted to head out to San Francisco. Jeric and I didn't really want to because we were both way tired. Especially Jeric, he drove the whole way. But we sucked it up and headed out to San Fran and met up with Christian.
Our room.. with Jeric ready for Wrestlemania already. Hahaha!

Since they all went to go drink me and Jeric just dropped them off and parked some where and napped until they were ready to go back to the hotel. By the way.. San Jose is an hour away from San Francisco.. and that's without any traffic! We were definitely pooped when we got back.

Derp Gets a Bath
It's been a long time since we've taken Derp out for a bath and probably a good while since we've given him one ourselves. Although, he's not that dirty, he's just got stinky B.O. Hahaha. He also needed his nails clipped, so it was a must to take him to the groomers.
We decided to take him to Dirty Dog Wash out in H.B. and after we dropped him off, we went out for some good eats.

Jeric went over to North Shore Poke Co. and got himself a poke bowl..

While I went over to Bonzai Bowls and got me a pitaya bowl, which is really pretty looking!

It was a nice and relaxing day!

Chamoy Mango
Me and Jeric wanted to go out and do something after work. He left finding what to do up to me. Normally we'd go out and eat, but we had just had dinner, so that was out of the question. So, while Jeric was at the gym, I had the task of looking for something to do.
I thought movie.. but there really isn't a good movie worth spending tons of $ on. I couldn't think of anything else.. so I started searching the web. I found mini golf.. but then we were like.. nah, that's one we'd save to do with more people.
So, I went on yelp to see if there were any dessert spots I bookmarked. That's when I found Natural. I've been wanting to try one of these delicious looking smoothies for so long. When I worked at EdgeMAC, one of the employees there came back with one of their drinks and it looked like this drink I've been seeing around instagram. So I asked her where she got it from and she mentioned Natural.
Looks like that's where we're going!
They didn't really have the drink item advertised so I actually ordered wrong the first time. Haha. What I had ordered was a regular fruit cup with some spicy/sweet powder on it. Luckily they didn't create it yet, so I was able to show them a picture and ask them if we can order that instead. It turns out it's called Chamoy Mango and is totally not on their menu anywhere!

Chamoy is this Mexican sauce that's a blend of salty, sweet & spicy. Toss that in a blender with Mango and ice and you get Chamoy Mango. It also comes with a straw covered with tamarind! When I tasted it, I knew that this was what I've been looking for for soooo long! I asked my dad if he remembered what we ate one time. It was unripe mango with a salty, sweet & spicy powder. He kept saying bagoong, but I knew that wasn't it.
Now I know! It's Chamoy!
Jeric tried it and totally hated it. Hahaha. But that's because when he was little he didn't like Lucas the way I did. Haha. Hell, I'd eat that stuff now! Sooo good!

Our New Brand.. Roots of Fight
Jeric found a new brand called Roots of Fight. He saw it off of The Rock's instagram and bought a few shirts. He absolutely loves them! The cotton is really soft and the fit is really good too.
Here's a few of his shirts..

He also got me a Muhammad Ali zip up hoodie, but I have no pic.

Happy Birthday Mom Samoza!
We already went out for dinner last night, but still stopped by tonight since it's her actual birthday today.
We all hung out. Everyone ate except for me and Jeric, we were already stuffed. Of course, we had just enough time for dessert!
Mom Samoza got a pretty fruit tart cake that we couldn't wait to devour!

The cake was pretty delicious. I just wasn't a fan of the thin layer of dark chocolate that they included and the crust was a bit too dense for my taste. Everything else, was as delicious as it looked.

Work Lunch Date!
I normally don't go out to eat. In fact, if I had my choice, I'd never go out to eat. It just takes way longer than needed and I'd rather take a 30 minute lunch than an hour. But.. I can't deny when co-workers ask me to go out for lunch. It would just be rude, especially when I'm still getting to know everyone.
We all decided to try a spot none of us has tried yet.. Super Mex.
Bevra ordered herself a chicken and cheese enchalada, Socorro got herself a taco plate and I decided on flautas.

Honestlly, the flautas were subpar. The meat was a tad dry and the wrapping was totally not crunchy. Maybe next time I'll just order a burrito..

Early Birthday Celebration!
Celebrating Mom Samoza's birthday a day early so that everyone can make it.
They choose Mr. BBQ, which is a new kbbq spot out in Fullerton. The deco is very asian-hipster.. kinda like Belly Bomz's deco.

The brisket wasn't as good as what we get from chasm (Cham Soot Gol). But their premium marinated choice sirloin was savory! The sides were okay. The radishes weren't as sweet as chasm and they're thickly sliced. They also don't give you enough to substitute for rice paper. They also have ice cream, but it's not self-serve deliciousness, it's one small scoop handed to you in a tiny cup. Booo.
I'd come back here, but only for that steak.
After dinner, we all headed over to their house and had cake. Liz and Marky bought the cake. They got a Taro/Vanilla cake from 85 degrees. Yumm!

Yumm!

Donuts to Thank Us for Our Support
Ninang Chi offered me and Jeric some Dunkin Donuts since we were coming by to watch Travis at his Hockey Clinic.

Honestly, we would've watched him without the donut incentive. He's pretty quick out there and has very good hand/eye coordination. We saw him play last Saturday and were pretty amazed.
Anyhow, thank you Ninang Chi! We had fun watching Travis and also enjoyed our delicious donuts.

Operation DIY Accessory Organizer
For awhile now we've had some of our accessories still in boxes and lately, we've been trying to get rid of them ugly boxes, especially since we renewed our lease for another year. Of course, that put me on a Pinterest hunt for unique/cute ways to organize.
That's when I found this..

Which totally gave me inspiration. I also ran it by the hubby to make sure he likes it too.
I also found this from Pinterest for our scarves.. sure beats stuffing them in our drawers!

Now the hunt begins to find the perfect pieces that match our bedroom furniture. Michaels, Target and Home Depot had just want I needed..

Sunglasses and accessories organizer:
Step 1: Remove all unwanted staples/labels, etc from the frame
Step 2: Flip the frame to the backside and see where you want your sunglasses to hang from. Once you pick the spot, grab your twine and measure how long of a piece you need and then double it. Tie it together on the ends (making a huge circle). Pull it so that it's taut and nail one side onto the frame. Then, twist the twine to your liking and nail the other side in. Repeat if you want another row of twine for hanging sunglasses or other things.

Step 3: Count how many hooks and knobs you have (in my case, I have 5 total). Measure and space them out however you wish and mark the spots where you'd like the hooks and knobs placed.
Step 4: Drill holes

Step 5: Screw the hooks and knobs in
Tada! Now you can hang on the wall and add your sunglasses to the twine and necklaces onto the hooks and knobs. You can also add your own background by stapling cloth, but we preferred leaving it open.

Scarf organizer:
Step 1: Install your rod where you'd like your scarves to hang

Step 2: Loop each scarf into it's own shower curtain ring
Step 3: Hang the shower rings on the rod
And there you have it! Hanging scarf organizer!

Now, I just need to find a cute way to organize Jeric's ties :)

Finally.. a Toolbox
Ever since we moved into the apartment we have never had a real toolbox. We've just been using a box, some tins, and a cup to hold everything.
.JPG)
Isn't that just uggggh!
Anyhow, I've been meaning to find a box for all the stuff to fit in. Luckily, while shopping for other home things at Daiso, I totally found this cute clear box!
.JPG)
I also found these little boxes that had individual dividers to separate different types of nails, screws, and such.

Put everything together and you get a Toolbox!

Sooooo much better than before!

Shopping Therapy!
Not that I need much therapy, but shopping is definitely relaxing and fun. While Jeric was busy helping his brother move, I was having some fun Me Time.
I had a lot of things I wanted to buy for our apartment so that I can get it a little bit more organized. So off I went to start hunting for things we need.
First stop was Walmart where I found absolutely nothing. Ugh. Should've just gone straight to the home store, Target. Before Target, I stopped over at Daiso. There, I found some really cute things. I also decided to go to Michaels before Target, since Target was close to Jeric's parent's house. I was in Michaels for a really long time. I needed to find the perfect little pieces for a little DIY Accessory Organizer project (more on that in another post). Since there was a Target nearby, I went there instead. But first, I needed to satisfy my hunger. I was seriously out and about for a good 3 hours or so and was very famished.
The closest spot that had me salivating was In-N-Out. I totally ordered myself a double double and animal style fries! And my-oh-my.. I killed it!

Now I can head over to Target.. which was where I found a good deal on a shelf to place above my computer desk. They also had a cheaper ironing board, but I couldn't carry it, so I'll just wait for Jeric to pick that one up.
After Target, I headed to my last stop.. Home Depot! And I took my sweet time there too. Had to find the right pieces to go with my DIY project.
I've been out for so long that Jeric was calling me wondering where I was. Hahaha.
Shopping Haul..

Travis' Hockey Game
After work me and Jeric headed over to Anaheim Ice to watch his godson's hockey game. They got into the Semi-Finals and we were hoping to see him win and head to Finals.

The game was very exciting and we were all cheering like crazy. It was funny too when Travis got called for hooking and got sent to the penalty box. Jeric was embarrassing Travis. Haha.

Sadly, they ended up losing the game. But we did get to see Travis hit a really sweet slap shot from a good distance. You go Travis!! It would've been even sweeter if they won. But it's ok, we are all still very proud of him and what he's accomplished with his team this season.
After the game, we all headed over for dinner at good ol' Kim Loan!
Mostly everyone got the normal 69 with egg. Since I'm not allowed to eat over easy eggs, I opted for the combo egg noodle soup.

Delicious as ever.
Good job Travis!! Glad we got to watch you play and looking forward to your next season!

Lease Renewal = Bedroom Ceiling Fan
Our room is always muggy and hot.. so when we renewed our lease and were told we can have either an accent wall, carpet cleaning, or a bedroom fan, we were totally all over that bedroom fan. Plus, it offers central lighting, which is very much needed.
Today, they installed our fan. Yey!! Finally.. some good air flow and much better lighting.

Oh.. they also finally fixed our washing machine too! Yey!!

Happy Birthday Dad Samoza!
We celebrated Dad Samoza's birthday twice. A few days ago we ate at Cham Soot Gol and today, on his actual birthday, we went out to eat at Los Sanchez. We had to celebrate twice because Marky and Liz both had work today and couldn't make it.
So, here we are at Los Sanchez.

As appetizers, each couple shared nachos that were smothered in beans, cheese, guacamole and sour cream. Jeric hates beans so only picked off chips without beans. I usually don't eat beans either but I was hungry (totally regretted that decision later on).
For our food.. I ordered the fish filet dish

Jeric ordered a shrimp dish

We also had a side of carne asada fries with the meat on the side.
Honestly I think everyone was starving because we all ordered way too much. Hahaha. Most of us barely ate half of our entrees and me and Jeric barely made a dent on our fries. But that's ok. We can totally save that for later!
Afterwards we all headed back to their house for Ube Cake!

Of course, we were way too stuffed, so we just took a few slices home.

The Curse of the 13th
I normally don't buy into all that superstition stuff. But today is Friday the 13th.. and it is really kicking my butt! LOL
It started off with me waking up late and rushing. I also didn't pack my lunch last night, so I was scrambling like crazy to pack some decent food. Then, on the way to work I ran into, not 1, but 2!! bad drivers! One switched lanes in front of me, but seriously almost clipped my front. She also had way enough room in front of her to speed up and pass me up comfortably. Ugh. And then.. minutes later, a driver to my right swerves because she's on her damn phone. She made me swerve into the middle turning lane. Grrrrr! Yah, I totally wore out my horn at those two broads. Ugh! Luckily my road rage well wore off before I got to work.
Now for the funny part. I had a bagel for breakfast and it was smothered with cream cheese. But of course.. the bagel could not leave me unscathed.

LOL! Yup.. that is cream cheese all over my hair and my shirt! I was holding it like a serving tray and as I went in for a bite, it decided now was it's best opportunity to ATTACK!
Lastly.. was me trying to order from H&M. Boy-oh-boy did I have a field day with that one. I found all these cute clothes for 60% off and was so excited to order them. I think I had like 15 items in my cart, no lie. And Jeric said.. I could decided what to keep and return the rest. I was so happy.. cause it's fun to shop!
Well.. it was checkout time.. and ugh! I was denied! It said my payment was rejected.. what?? I thought maybe I entered wrong information so I re-entered and made sure to double check everything. Nope, still rejected.
Hmm.. maybe it's my card company. So I called them. Nope, everything is all hunky dory over there. So I called H&M. First rep was like.. it seems to be the Processing Security Dept and to wait a few days and try again. I was like.. uhh.. then I lose out on the 60% of sale, which is way ridic! But of course.. that's all he can do, right? I tried my Amex, still no go. Now I was starting to lose my patience. But I would not give up! I decided to try creating a brand new account.. HA!

At this time.. I'm so frustrated that I begin to laugh.
I try several minutes later and once again.. the payment was rejected. That's it.. I'm done!
LOL.. yah.. is it just a bad day? Or did the Curse of Friday the 13th claim me as victim? I'll never know. Hahahaha
