Finally Trying These Dumplings Out

For a long time, my friend's have been raving about Din Tai Fung, this dumpling house that's supposed to be super good.

Anyways, this morning, we headed out to visit the Gruezo's for some early morning breakfast. Mark and Jenn brought bagels and Kevin and Nina cooked other breakfast goodies! Everyone hung out for awhile and then we headed out.

We stopped by at The Face Shop first so a few of us can get some face products, then we hit up Cafe 85 degrees cause me and Jeric totally wanted this Milk Bread that I got last time.

Then, for lunch we headed out to Din Tai Fung! The wait time was kinda long though, probably because it was the holiday weekend. There were two separate restaurants that were behind each other. We actually reserved spots at both restaurants and even still the wait time was the same, one hour and thirty minutes!

Anyhow, we finally got seated and started ordering dumplings! We ordered a few types of regular dumplings, one order of soup dumplings and a few orders of spicy dumplings. I liked both the soup dumplings and the spicy ones. This place was actually really good!

Totally can't wait until they open this spot up in Costa Mesa, but I'm sure it'll be busy as hell!

My First Black Friday Off

This is the very first year to not have to work on Black Friday! WOOT!

Does that mean we're gonna go head out super early and hit up some stores? Hell nope! LOL. We've never been interested in anything during black friday.

So what did we do? Sleep in!! :D

Just like this guy right here..

Lazy boy Derp knows exactly how to spend the day!

Three Feasts for Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving all! Hope you are having a fabulous time with family & friends!

To start off our day, we had a wonderful brunch. All cooked by Mom Samoza!

We totally took a nap right after. Hahaha. Which made us a bit late for Feast #2 in LA.

We still made it in time though! Here we are celebrating Feast #2!

Since we were late to LA, we ended up staying a bit later and then we ended up being really late to our third Feast in Lake Forest.

We also still had to cook a bit. Whoopse! I still had to cook Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Macaroni and Cheese. Oh well, no one has work tomorrow anyways!

My garlic mashed potatoes were a hit, but my macaroni cheese was way dry. But that's because I totally did it wrong. Instead of one bag of macaroni, the recipe calls for one cup. Wuh-oh! LOL. Oh well, it was good mixed in with my dad's chili sauce!

We capped the night with a few games of Catan!

Jeric's Birthday Gift Finally Came In the Mail!

I ordered Jeric's gift a few days before his birthday, but one of the shirts was out of stock, so they held the order. How lame. Anyhow, they ended up just sending the one shirt and putting the other one on backorder. They shoulda done that in the first place! Oh well, at least he got one of the shirts.

Finishing the Layers of Jello

I needed to finish up the layers of jello for Thanksgiving tomorrow, so I went to my parent's house to finish it all up.

I got to hang out with my parents while I was making the rest of the layers too, so that's always nice!

And I finished! :)

Girly Time and JELLO!

Hung out at Alex and Gen's today so that we can make layered jello!

First, we had to buy supplies, so me and Gen went out shopping while Alex and Jeric played some video games.

By the time we got back, we were a bit hungry so Gen made us all quesadillas! Thanks Gen.

Then, Jonah came over with the boys and that was a whole lot of fun. The girls hung out and chatted while starting to make our jello layers.

And then Jenn and Mark came over and totally announced that they're having a baby! YEY! Congrats you two! :D

We didn't quite finish our layers of jello because we kept getting caught up in the convos, but it's okay, it was worth it! We had fun catching up and hanging out. :)

Ohh, and now picture.. doh!

New Game System.. for ME!

Jeric's Twin, Ivan, bought a new Nintendo 3ds (the zelda limited ed. one). Since he bought that one, he sold us his old one for a really good price. YEY!

So here I am, with my new 3ds!!

He bought Animal Crossing online so after I restored to factory settings, I was still allowed to redownload the game! YEY some more!

And then Jeric had a game to trade in to Best Buy that got us $32. He gave me the gift card and we bought Zelda: A Link Between Worlds!

YEY for video games!

Another Sad Loss for Team F&F

Came out again to watch Team F&F play some ball.

Jeric isn't starting though. A bit shocking, but oh well. As long as he has fun and does his job! Which, he totally did! He scored like 17 points!! Good job buddy!!!

Still though, they lost. And by a LOT! Like 20 points. Kinda sucks too, because in the end, the five on the court played extremely well together and all hit some good shots. It was just far too late in the game to catch up and possibly win that one.

I didn't get much video either. Hahaha. My phone was out of space and so was Jeric's! Whoopse!

Girly Fun Time

Met up with the girls at Spoon House, which is a European/Japanese fusion restaurant. A lot of the dishes are basically spaghetti with a Japanese twist!

Some of the girls have eaten here before and about half has never tried it, one of them being me.

The spot was a bit of a hole-in-the-wall with limited seating and we needed our entire group to be there to be seated as well. So it did take a bit before we were seated.

They served us delicious baguettes cut into slices to start.

As for entrees, I ordered the Japanese Clam Sauce dish with both types of mushrooms and shiso.

It wasn't too bad. But the clam sauce was way clammy. Hahaha. Sometimes it was quite overwhelming.

I did have leftovers and took them home to Jeric (he said it was delish!)

There was also a huge surprise for lunch! Nina's preggers!! She's gonna have her second baby! Congrats!!

After lunch at Spoon House we all headed over to Honey Boba for some boba drinks and to sit and chat a bit.

I've never had Honey Boba before and I wanted something very fruity so I ordered the Strawberry Smoothie. Yummm.

Also totally loved the decor, very posh!

The girls (missing Jenn).

Karen had to leave to meet up Anthony for Reese's swim class and then Nina had to head out too. So it was just me, Gen and Joan.

We wanted some pastries, so we hit up 85 degrees C.

Boy was that place packed! Me and Gen got in right away, but then there was a rush of people while Jonah was still looking for parking. They actually had to hold of people from entering for awhile. Guess it was way overcrowded and over capacity. Sadly Joan had to wait in that line for a bit.

Eventually though, we all got in and got our bread! Joan suggested trying this Mocha flavored bread that has a nutella type filling and walnuts. So I got a few of those. I also wanted to try this Milk bread shaped like a sunflower and then got one regular blueberry flaky pastry.

And that was our girly lunch date! Until next time girlies!!

Hair Did

Finally got my hair done! Since I had to cancel yesterday's appointment because of the car mishap, I was luckily able to reschedule to today!

Went here for the first time and chose it based off the reviews.

My hair is currently long and all one length, except the bangs, those are a little shorter than the length of my hair.

I'm getting bangs again. Not exactly blunt bangs this time though. I'm gonna have her make the bangs consistently uneven, if that makes sense. Hahaha. And I'm also layering my hair in a v-shape.

Yelp reviews said this girl knows stuff about hair and talks about it a lot with you. Which seems to be true. She showed me that the very bottom layer of my hair has a hole/gap right in the middle! She said it's because a lot of hair stylists pull the hair to the sides and cut that way. And then they cover the hole up with the next layer.

Luckily she said it can be rectified in 6 months.

Well, here's my hair!

Before and After!

Rios the Punching Bag

We watched the Pacquiao fight today.

It was sooo freaking boring. It was all Pacquiao. Rios was just his punching bag! Makes me think he was chosen just for an easy win. Who knows?

None-the-less, Pacquiao won!!!

Shopping and the Barber Shop

After bfast at Denny's we headed over to the block.

Awhile ago, I tried Wen Hair Shampoo/Conditioner since a homie had a good hook-up. Sadly, it wasn't the right fit for my hair. So I got the shampoo and a leave in hair treatment. But when I got home I realized I had a bottle of the treatment already. So I needed to exchange it for the conditioner.

While I went there, Jeric went to check out the Nike outlet store.

And when we met back up he surprised me with a pair of Air Max's! Sweet! He said they were on sale! Horray for new shoes!

We also checked out H&M. Had to exchange the cardigans I got for Jeric. Instead of exchanging for a different size, he ended up exchanging for a jacket. Which was a far better deal.

And that was the end of our errand/shopping trip to the block.

Now off to the barber shop! Jeric needs a haircut. Hahaha. But he also didn't wanna pay so much so we went to Goodfella's Barber this time.

Boy oh boy do the workers gab way too much! I was in there for, but only a few minutes and in that short span of time, I was like holy cow!! It's as if a bunch of girls were spreading some chismis, but it was like all boys and one girl and not really chismis. Hahaha.

Anyhow, I left Jeric there and hung out in the car to charge my phone. And also to make my hair appointment because I really want my bangs again.

The thing is.. when Jeric was all finished, the car wouldn't start! Wuh-oh. It ended up being the battery... It was drained because I was charging my phone. In my defense though, I did ask Jeric if I had to have the engine running and he totally said no. *womp womp womp*

And I totally had to reschedule my hair appointment for tomorrow.

But at least the car was fine (had AAA come out and jump us) and we still got our palettas!!

Brunch at Denny's

We wanted some pancakes for brunch and since Denny's has the awesome 2, 4, 6, 8 menu, we went there instead of Original Pancake House.

At first we went to the Denny's by our house on Euclid, but it was crowded as hell! I think the wait time was thirty minutes or more. Yikes. We decided to call around and see if nearby Denny's didn't have much of a wait. I called the one across from Disneyland first and it was a winner! No wait for seating!

The parking lot super sucks though. Jeric circled the parking lot once and then dropped me off while he went back to look for parking.

And yup, right when I got in, I was seated right away! Horray.

We both ordered two pancakes for $2 and then gravy covered biscuits for another $2. Jeric got his with hashbrowns and I got mine with scrambled eggs. YUMMM! Perfect amount of food for under $10 for two? Can't beat it!

Another New System!

Jeric's Xbox One came in the mail today. It's his birthday gift from Ivan!

Woohoo to new systems!

Mom Samoza's Meatball Subs

Skipped out on the food trucks this Friday.

Instead, had some delicious meatball subs made by Mom Samoza!

New Udon Spot

Since it was soo cold today, I decided to try out this Udon spot for lunch while Jeric stuck to his subway.

Yelp had good reviews and I gotta say, I liked the Udon. I just need to remember to order ahead of time next time because I almost killed my entire lunch waiting for the Udon.

My OOTD (Outfit of the Day)

I really like my little outfit for today! So, I'm gonna share..

Brown Lace-up Booties (DSW - Guess)

Derp is pretty lazy a lot of the times. But never has he full on slept on his back. At least, not until now!!

Hahaha. Totally found this feller like this in the morning! Soooo cute!

Great way to start the morning!

Hanging With Joan

I hung out with Joan today and Mikey and Matty.

She totally bought dinner for us too. KFC! Yummm! Thanks Joan!!

After dinner and after she took care of the boys, we got to work!

It was time to start designing her website! YEY!

Butterscotch Blooms!! Coming soon!

Yummy Pancakes

Jeric went to Denny's with his brothers and Patrick last night. He totally bought me some yummy pancakes. But when he got home, it was waay to late and I was super sleepy already. So, I saved them for today!

Bon Appetit!

Carne Asada Burritos

Got our favorite Carne Asada Burritos from Taqueria De Anda today!

It's actually been awhile too. And I was soo hungry, I devoured mine quickly!

Flavored Tea

Got some tea samples in the mail at my parent's the other day.

Some flavored tea! YEY! I love fruity flavored tea!

Trying out the Wild Berry mix by Twinings.

Good stuff and a lovely way to start off work!

Team F&F.. Forfeit Winners!

Team F&F was ready today! The game was supposed to start at 7, but we totally got there at like 6:15 or 6:30 because Jeric wanted to get some good practice in.

When we got there though, it totally looked like the gym was still closed. So we just hung out in the car.

Funny thing though, when more of the team came, they found out the doors were open the whole time! Hahaha.

Oh well, they still had about 15 minutes or so to shoot around.

At around 6:55 though, the other team was still not there and usually both teams are there around that time.

And then it was like 7:15. And still.. nothing! We were thinking, maybe we got the time wrong? But nope, it was supposed to start at 7. Apparently the team was totally MIA.

So Team F&f decided to play among each other. Hahaha. They had all 9 players there, so they got a 5 on 5 game with Aeson, Dre's brother as an extra.

The other team never did show up! So it was a forfeit! Which means, they got their first win!!!

Girly Shopping Time!

Hung out with Gen today for some good ol' shopping!

I wanted to shoe shop and she wanted to sweater shop.

First things first, food in our bellies!

We made a stop at In-N-Out on the way to Brea and got our selves some burgers!

Next stop, shoes! We stopped by Nordstrom Rack first to see if they had good deals and if I could find some cute Oxford Wingtips. Sadly, couldn't find any. I did find some basketball shorts for Jeric though!

Now off to DSW! The shoe search continues. And I gotta say, DSW never lets us down! Totally found a few pairs of cute Oxford Wingtips!! Only one style was really really cute and between the two color combos, only one had my size, so I left with only one pair. Hahaha. But hey, $35 instead of $180ish if I buy these from like Nordies or something. So, maybe I can go back for that second pair someday. Heh heh heh.

Gen also found a really cute pair of booties! She wasn't even shopping for shoes. Hahaha. But that always seems to happen with us!

Since we both were very happy with our shoe purchases, we headed over to Brea Mall to hit up H&M.

Perfect timing too. I needed to use my Wrapp coupon for $10. And even better, there's a bogo on sweaters!! WOOOT! I totally found these two cute sweaters that were listed at 14.99, which wasn't bad, especially when you throw in the bogo deal. And then when I paid at the register, it came to 7.99!! It was on sale! So I got two freaking sweaters for 7.99! That's like $4 each! What a STEAL!

We both left there with sweaters on the cheap!

I love these kinds of shopping days!

Earl of Sammich

After a fun stroll around Disneyland and California Adventure, we were famished. And since it's been awhile, we decided on Earl of Sammich!

Since Thanksgiving is around the corner, we both got ourselves the Holiday Special!

There was a bit of a hiccup though. We tasted something a bit different and then found out that it had mayo in it. Bummer. Totally had to have a new one made with no mayo. So weird too cause I asked the guy if it always contained mayo and he said yes. We both don't ever recall having mayo in it. Also, they should totally list ingredients.

The Tree's Finally Up In Disneyland!

We went to Disneyland to see if the Christmas tree is finally up and to see if there are any new deco.

The entrance now featured icy slopes or whatever these are..

And YES! The tree is up!!

There were also other cute decorations up..

My fav were the ubber colorful wreaths.

And of course, can't forget It's a Small World!

We ventured out to Toontown too because we were really hoping Mickey was dressed up as Santa! Well, he so wasn't! Hahaha. BUTTT, he was in his marching band uniform! Which was super cool because I've never seen him dressed up like that!

On the way walking back towards Main St. we ran into one of the Sorcerer's Apprentices and he totally had his magical bucket and brush and painted Goofy on the floor!

Afterwards, we made our way to California Adventure. That's where we met Santa, took another Christmas tree picture and met Pluto with Christmas stocking ears!

Still the Best Donuts EVER!

Jeric got asked by Craig (the bossman) to help him out and load some boxes into storage. It was a few blocks or so away from the office, so we left at 4:30. He actually wanted to take the boxes at 3:30, but that just didn't work out. I left at 4:30 with them and Craig said we can just go home afterwards.

Since we were in Huntington Beach, we decided it was totally worth it to buy a box of donuts at Donuttery!

My only request was to have the blueberry vanilla frosted ones. Never tried it and Gen said they're soo delicious, which they are, but still, I prefer regular blueberry. The vanilla frost was a tad too sweet. Mmm soo good!

New System.. PS4!!

Jeric picked up his new system today! He went to Best Buy at 11:30 to wait in line. Luckily, he was 5th in line for pre-orders. As for the non-pre-order line? Long as hell! Good thing he pre-ordered!

Love how Derpson seems just as excited!

He was actually supposed to go with his brother, but they both pre-ordered at completely different Best Buys. Hahaha. They did go out again when they both came home with their systems. They went to go check out games at Walmart and came back with NBA2k14! Of course, they could not wait til tomorrow. They unboxed their systems, set it up, and then played a quick game!

Craving the Pizza

Been craving pizza for a few days now. Today, it was just like, I HAVE TO HAVE IT!

Soo, after we got home, before Jeric headed to the gym, we totally headed over to Little Caesar's and got me a hot-n-ready! I totally scarfed down two slices before we made it back home (which is literally down the street). There was a little detour to get gas though. So, not that bad, right?

Gigantic Pear

I went to my parent's house the other day and my mom gave me this huge pear!! It's like twice the size of an apple. Haha. Anyhow, I cut it up at work today and shared some with the receptionist. We both came to the same conclusion. Kinda tastes like jicama, with a very slight pear flavor. Not bad! I like jicama, and that slight pear taste makes it yum!

Yummy Breakfast Donut

Jeric got me a donut from Starbucks last night. I didn't really want it then, so I saved it for today's bfast!

Didn't even know Starbucks had desserts like these! The donut was okay. No donuttery, that's for sure! Still yummy though!

Later for lunch, we went out to Flame Broiler. We each got the chicken bowl, except mine was regular sized and Jeric's was the mini. Hahaha.

Tuesday, November 12, 2013

Happy birfday!!

Since it's Jeric and his twin's birthday today, he decided it's a good day for a cheat day. So, for lunch, we ate at panda! Jeric got the half and half orange chicken bowl and I got myself a two item combo. Half and half, orange chicken, and beef with broccoli! I didn't really finish mine, but totally wanted more because I know I'll be hungry again in a few hours.

For dinner, we came home to pancit, orange chicken, duck and a beef dish!

Happy birthday Jeric and Ivan!
